He mentioned that every year app. 2-2.5 million tons of LPG is bought from Algeria, Kuwait, Norway and several other companies. He also warned that taxing on LPG should change since it has recently entered in wide use in transportation. Another session titled "Expectations For the Future of Electricity Market and The Deve/opments, Autoproducers and Autoproducer Groups Today" with the chairmanship of Energy Works General Manager Selahattin Çimen at Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources and with the announcers: Turkey Cogeneration and Autoproduction Association Chairman Özkan Ağış, Prof. Klaus Traube from German CHP Association, ENKO General Manager Mehmet Türkel, TEDAŞ Respresentative Ömer Sami Yapıcı, ENTEK General Manager Muzaffer Yosmaoğlu and Sami Erkişi from Çevrim Elektrik. - in the panel titled Problems in "Cogeneration Application in Europe and Turkey" are discussed with the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources Ass. Undersecretary Temel Eryılmaz as the chairman where Dr. Simon Minett and Özkan Ağış gave information on Cogeneration Applications in Europe, Gert Jan Bakker on Cogeneration in Holland, Prof. Klaus Traube on Cogeneration in Germany, Costas Theofylactos on the Role of Cogeneration in Greece and Balkans and Yaman Akar on Autoproducers in Turkey Today and Their Problems. Dr. Simon Minett, the first speaker in the panel told about cogeneration applications by giving examples from the movie "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly'' where he started with "the Bad" one: "There had been several regulations supporting cogeneration in the /ast 1O years but EU member states did not have further actions on this issue; so on the bad side of po/icies lie partial liberalization of energy market and lack of coordination between other policies and energy policies. On tlıe good side lies government support to cogeneration plans, /ow costs that make us think a set of good directives wi/1 be formed. These are the bad guys.
