cı in ACTION 9th lnternational Cogeneration Combined Cycle and Environment Conference will be held in Swissotel-lstanbul between 26-27 May 2003. ICCI Conferences are being held since 1992 with a great success. The conferences are known as a respectable international forum in which the latest cogeneration technologies in Turkey and around the world are discussed and the latest developments and applications in the cogeneration world are presented. ICCI, increasing its power in the energy and cogeneration world year by year, gathers well-known experts from the international cogeneration fields of various countries and enable them to exchange their knowledge and new technologies with the delegates. With the support of Turkey Cogeneration and Autoproduction Association and Cogen Europe, the conference is an important information source about the latest news and developments about the cogeneration applications in the European countries tor the related sectors in Turkey, while contributing to the development of the cogeneration sector in Turkey. in Turkey, cogeneration and autoproducers have a 14 % share of electricity production in 2001 which shows the importance of the conference. Apart from the previous years, the issue of combined cycle will be discussed by the concerned experts in the next conference. Besides, there will be sessions and panels on "The Expectations tor the Future of Electricity Market"; "Legal lssues on the Cogeneration Plants and Combined Cycle Plants"; "Developments in Cogeneration and Combined Cycle"; "Natural Gas and Engine Turbines" ; "Trigeneration and Combined Heating and Cooling Systems"; "Microcogeneration"; "Problems of Operation, Maintenance and Environment in Energy Power Plants"; "Restructuring of Natural Gas, Coal and Oil Product Markets"; "Cogeneration, Combined Cycle and District Heating Applications and Cogeneration"; "Financing Combined Cycle and District Heating Projects". in the opening ceremony, Özkan Ağış (Chairman of Turkey Cogeneration and Autoproduction Association), Dr. Simon Minett (Director of Cogen Europe ), M. Ali Türkoğlu (2nd President of Energy Market Regulatory Authority), Ali Müfit Gürtuna (Mayor of lstanbul) and Zeki Çakan (Minister of Energy and Natural Resources) will be participating. The Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources announced that the week including the conference will be "Cogeneration week of Turkey" by the attempts of Turkey Cogeneration and Autoproduction Association. in this context, the most successful Cogeneration Plant Award was given in the previous conference tor the first time. in the next year, there will be two categories in which the points will be given upon the qualifications in efficiency, readiness, production cost, investment cost and emissions and the prizes will be presented to the winners by the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources.
