54 ARTICLE / MAKALE Recent orders for GT1 O turbines in February 2002, ALSTOM Power Sweden received an order tor fifty industrial gas turbine compressor sets to be installed in 18 compressor stations on the IGAT and Azerbaijan pipeline systems tor gas transportation both within ıran and tor potential export. The customer is NIGC, National lranian Gas Company, and the order illustrative of the trend in market demands. The ALSTOM gas turbine facility in Finspong, Sweden, will manufacture and deliver the first 15 units over a 16 month period. The remaining units, which will be delivered over tour years, will have an increasing share of lranian sourcing. The first tour units have already been delivered and nine will have been delivered by the end of 2002. For this project, ALSTOM will supply 50 x GT10B, fuelled by natural gas, with a shaft output of 34,100 shp, a heat rate of 250 Btu/shp-hr (35.1%) and a power turbine speed range of 3,850 - 8,085 rpm. The OLE combustor guarantees NOx emissions below 25 vppm (15%02 dry) at full load and a by-pass system will provide emission control at part load. The unit offers low degradation of output and efficiency over time, crucial to guarantee the security of the gas supply. Each GT10B will drive a barrel-design compressor unit, of which seven different variants will be used, to adapt to the operating conditions of the 18 different stations. (Figure 8) in November 2002 the first two GT10C gas turbines were sold, also tor mechanical drive application, showing that the market has room tor the two turbines to operate side by side. These two GT10C turbines, delivered to UGOC in Port Said, Egypt, will be used to drive two 12 MV5A direct-drive, singlebody, centrifugal compressors in a new Natural Gas Liquefaction process piant designed to process 1100 million standard cubic feet of gas per day from the Egyptian national gas grid. The gas will then be liquefied and processed to produce commercial propane, future ethane for the petrochemical industry, sales gas, liquefied propane gas and condensate tor a variety of commercial applications. GT1 0B and GT1 OC side-by-side Comparing the GT10C with the GT10B, power has been increased from 25.4 MW to 30 MW (shaft) and the efficiency has been raised from 35,0% to 37,3%. The GT 10C does not, however, replace the GT10B: there is room tor both on the marketplace, and they are designed to work side-by-side. The two turbines are designed to occupy the same tootprint.. Both are dual-fuel, OLE machines. The single-supplier multi-unit projects which are coming to characterise the oil and gas market indicate that there is a vast need for reliable, proven turbine technology as provided by these ALSTOM medium range gas turbines. Both GT 10B and GT 10C are modern, industrial gas turbines, offering a balance of high efficiency, robustness and reliability in both mechanical drive and power generation applications, a combination which leads to low life-cycle costs tor the customer.
