The performance of the unit was tested at the Dantoss works in Denmark, mainly to show that a constant hot water delivery temperature could be maintained tor a range of draw-off rates. The hydraulic separation enabled the primary system to operate at up to 90 °c flow temperature. The return temperature on the primary was designed at 60 °c from the dwelling radiators and 30 °c from the hot water heat exchangers, giving about a 35 °c temperature difference on average. The return temperatures from the leisure centre are even lower as underfloor heating has been employed !here. The thermal store is pressurized and directly connected to the primary circuit. lts volume is 70 m3 and so is capable of storing 2.8 MWh of thermal energy, sufficient to supply the site tor several hours at most times of the year.
