Aghis Christodoulopoulos HE&D S.A ıccı 2001 BİLDİRİSİ Company, the strategic Cooperation Agreement signed with the Turkish Company ENKA with object the joint evaluation of the feasibility for the development of large-scale gas and power projects in Greece and Turkey. We are currently evaluating the parameters for the development of a large scale CCGT power plant in Northern Greece of 800 MW approximate capacity, which will supply electricity to Greece and Turkey. Ali possible alternatives for the gas supply of the power plant are under evaluation. Our target is to jointly submit, within June, an application to the Ministry of Development and the Greek Regulatory Authority of Energy (RAE) for obtaining the Power Generation License for the CCGT plant. The ıegislative framework for cogeneration in Greece Cogeneration projects in Greece are subject to the provisions of the government Law 2773/99 which sets the framework for the liberalization of the Greek electricity Market. Since 19.02.2001, the Greek electricity market is liberalized to approximately 33%. Ali the power customers connected to the high and medium voltage grid are considered " eligible customers". According to the Law 2773/99 the cogeneration plants must have annual fuel utilization coefficient more than 65% or 75% in case of combined cycle technology. The Law foresees that the electricity produced from cogeneration plants with installed capacity up to 35 MW, is dispatched with absolute priority by the Electricity System Operator. This is also applicable for the surplus electricity produced from cogeneration autoproducers with installed capacity up to 50 MW. ınstalled capacity of cogeneration Plants in Greece The installed capacity of gas-fired Cogeneration Plants in lnstalled Power and Electricity Produced by PPC in 1999 (according to the Plant Type) Plant Type lnstalled % Electricity Power (MW) Production(GWh) Coal-fıred 4900 46,5 29115 Oil-fıred 1985 18,8 7160 Hydro 3092 29,3 4800 Gas-fıred 537 5, 1 3690 Wind 26 0,2 56 Total 10540 100 44821 % .wınd 65 16 10,7 8,2 o, 1 100 ı ıGna-flrod ı ı Hydro • 011-firod tnstuıtod Powor (MW) 40 ij ECOGENERATION WORLD Eloctrlclty Productlon(GWh) 1 1 CoAl-firod Greece is 80 MW approximately.
