Summaries Editorial Are Incentives Sliding To An Unknown Season? We all expected clarifıcation from Minister of Energy ,in the Renewable Energy Conference in Ankara, organized on 8th to 9th october.İn vain, there were more questions rather than clarifıcations. We have difficulty of understanding ,why incentives have been pushed to an unknown season.because ,All investors are waiting for the new strategy of Goverment .All utility companies of European Countries are taking advantage from their incentive laws which have been already enacted ,except Turkey.İncentives which were accepted by their laws, are much higher than the subject draft in Turkey. We want to believe that, soon or later ,Turkey will support energy investers with the satisfactory incentives. What Happens With The Natura! Gas Nowadays rumors have been circulating in the media ,about the natural gas price increase .To our understanding , we should expect the opposite measure, that means ,further decrease of gas price ,in order to increas gas consumption . Last year Turkey, had to pay appr.600m.$ compansation ,originated from gas "take -or-pay" obligation .İf it is so ,to awoid from a new compansation ,in the new year,we need to support further consumption in gas.Since Turkey geographically is well located ,we need to pay less euro than european citizens and industrial consumers. We see just opposite situation. In Europe, cross border price of naturel gas was appr.380$ per 1000 m3 before global crises .Now it is at the range of 200$ .İt is 330$ in Turkey ,now. If existing gas management can not provide much lower prices in Turkey , compared to european consumens , that means , there is something wrong with the gas management Actuel The Heart of Waste-to-Energy sector will beat at IWES IWES- International Waste to Energy Symposium that 72 ENERJİ DÜNYASI EKIM2009 aims to underline the problems and the solutions of the sector in order to make waste-to-energy sector in our country wide-spread with correct applications, will be held at Istanbul WOW Convention Center between 1213 November 2009. Liberalization Era in Electricity Production in EU Countries and Turkish Electricity Market Since the fırst times when demand for electricity started to emerge for the fırst time, investments regarding electricity production have been made primarily by the States. However, later on, electricity production was either carried out by private companies or the State. In Western States with liberal econoınies, private sector has dominance in electricity production while in former eastern bloc Countries State still plays the dominant role. As the concepts of closed economy and statism have come to a halt in the world, private sector investments for electricity production is on the rise in almost all countries.
